With sadness, we announce the passing of Linda Francis Walsh (Barbanera) on October 13, 2023. At the age of 82, Linda departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Linda was born on April 5, 1941 to the late Mary Lynch and Dominick Barbanera. As she entered the world she became the little sister to the late Joan McCann.
Linda's journey in life was marked by a series of remarkable chapters, each contributing to the tapestry of her existence. After graduating from St. Barnabas High School in the heart of the Bronx, she embarked on a fulfilling career as a production secretary for television and film. At this time, Linda also became a mother to her three children: Karen, Steven, and Michael. She worked on iconic shows like The Patty Duke Show, Naked City, and Dark Shadows. Linda's interest in film and television continued throughout her life.
Later in life, Linda embarked on a 35-year journey as a commercial property office manager, working for family-run businesses, including Fairmore Development and Commercial Property Management. She brought her work ethic and enthusiasm to her career, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. In 2010, she retired, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and dedication.
Beyond her professional life, Linda had a deep love for life's simple pleasures. She had an insatiable wanderlust, with a passion for travel that took her frequently to her favorite places, such as Las Vegas and Puerto Rico. The allure of movies, puzzles, and the joy of solving them provided her with endless entertainment. Linda was known for her jokes and willingness to laugh, which brought joy to family gatherings and social occasions. Her sense of humor was a precious gift that she shared with the world.
Linda leaves behind an indelible mark on the lives of those she held dear. She is survived by her three beloved children, Michael, Steven, and Karen, who will forever carry the torch of her fierce existence. Her four grandchildren, Nicholas, Karly, Ryan, and Alexa, bear the legacy of her love and zest, passing it on to future generations. Her two cherished daughters-in-law, Brenda and Nikki, continue to share the love in the family she created.
Linda's life was a testament to the enduring power of family, laughter, and togetherness. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all those who were fortunate to know her.
