Obituary of Claire Ann Berger
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claire Berger, who passed away on July 17th, 2023 in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey.
Claire was born in February of 1942 in Newark, New Jersey. She was raised alongside her three siblings. Claire grew up to be a very business savvy individual and after parting from the computer company she ran, she opened up multiple businesses in the Boonton area. She owned and managed multiple antique stores that would sell all types of rare finds. She would even attend the Denville Historical Society’s Market Sales to ensure these well-loved items found even more loving homes.
Something that was even more important than her career was Claire’s family. She was a mother to two wonderful children who got to grow up with a truly devoted mother, spending their summers in the beautiful Estling Lake. As she raised her family, Claire found that she loved the tight-knit, family centered community. Estling Lake was a place where Claire and her family made life-long friends. Claire also had a love for travelling, and would do it as often as she could. She and her husband, William “Tom” Berger, would take cruises around the world and visit many different countries. The memories that she made with her family on these trips are ones that they will cherish forever. At the end of the day, you could be sure to find Claire, relaxing on the porch, watching the sun as it set across the lake.
While Claire may be gone, her spirit will live with us forever. We take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her husband once more in paradise. We look now to those she leaves behind to carry on her memory. He survivors include her children, Stephen Jamison and his wife, Kimberly, Suzanne Longfield and her husband, Robert, her step-son, William Berger and his wife, Liz, her grandchildren, Daniel Jamison, Emily Jamison-Nienstadt and her husband, Benjamin, Lindsey Longfield, Garret Jamison, Katie Longfield, Patrick Berger, Caitlyn Berger-Dixon, her siblings, Dale Mutter, Leigh Bollinger, Robert Reimers, and a wealth of extended family, friends, and neighbors who will remember her fondly.
A celebration of life for Claire will be held on September 9th, 2023. For additional information, please reach out to the family on your own, or through a private message on the tribute wall provided here.
