Obituary of Anthony J. Cerrato

Dr. Anthony Joseph Cerrato passed away on Saturday April 26, 2003. He was 96 years old. Born in Manhattan, NY he had lived in Pellham Manor, NY before moving to South Hampton, NJ 19 years ago, and then moving to Denville in 1994. He had received his B.S. in Pre Med. From City College of New York in 1928. He then went on to receive his degree in medicine from New York University in Manhattan in 1932. He was an Army Captain in the Medical Corp. during World War II. He was a General Practitioner in the Bronx, New York for 50 years before retiring in 1981. He is pre-deceased by his wife Lillian Olivia (Pernazza) with whom he was married for 70 years. Surviving is his daughter Audrey Muenzen of Basking Ridge, J. Robert Cerrato of Califon, NJ, John A. Cerrato D.D.S. of Garden City, NJ. 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. A Brother Thomas Cerrato of Denville, and three sisters, Anna Rapa of Orlando, FL, Margaret Hammond of Hicksville, L.I., and Gloria Weldon of Cocoa Beach, FL. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday April 30, at 10:00AM for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mt. Lakes at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
