My sweet, sweet cousin. You are a beautiful soul and I will miss you so much in this space here on earth. Our families have always been close growing up and becoming moms gave us a special way to bond in our adult years. It has always been so important that our kids were close and I just love their bond with Jim’s kids as well. Our connection and love I hope continues on through our children and their adventures ahead. Family is forever. My heart will never forget you and will always miss you. Love you!

Kathy and I were school friends in Denville at Lakeview, Valleyview, and Morris Knolls. When you grow up and move away, it is easy to forget those childhood friendships in general, but it is impossible – impossible – to ever forget Kathy. I remember her as a beautiful, kind, caring, and supportive friend. And so smart! I remember her smile and sympathetic eyes. I remember how easy it was to know her even in the teenage years when nothing is easy for anyone! She was a comfort. I regret that I didn’t know her anymore in our adult years, but I could tell from her pictures or posts that she was the same good person I knew in childhood. To her family and loved ones, I’m so very sorry for your loss.

I first met Kathleen when we were teaching partners in a preschool classroom. Her kind heart, her true empathy, her intuitive problem solving, and her witty sense of humor made her a fabulous colleague and, very quickly, a dear friend. I value every interaction we had over the last 25 years, both in person, through our frequent “catching up” emails, or even just a post shared on Facebook. Most recently our emails covered our shared experiences of parenting our lovable and complex teenagers. Kathleen was thoughtful in the most definitive sense of the word. Every time of need in my life- when my husband was ill, when my children were born, when my dad passed away- Kathleen was there with a supportive word, a hearty meal, a gift card to make my days smoother- even during times when she was facing her own challenges. She was a natural caregiver and a steady light in the world. I know her energy will continue to ripple through the lives of everyone she touched.

Russell, Karina, Ryan, and all of Kathleen's family - I am so very sorry to hear about this loss. Kathleen was truly a light and wonderful friend. I met her in 2000 when we started new jobs together on the same day. We shared so much in the years we worked together and kept in touch long after, albeit infrequently. I loved to catch up with Kathleen and hear about her life with her family and to share mine with her. I am thinking of all of you and sending love. I will forever hold you all in my heart. Kathleen will be dearly missed, and we are all better for having known her. May her memory be for a blessing. Love, Elizabeth (Bachrach) Simon

Kathy was so smart and funny and kind and I am so very sorry to hear that she has died. I have fond memories of playing with her when we were in elementary school -- I loved driving in her mother's Volkswagen Beetle, and being at their home for play dates and birthday parties (although their dog was a little scary!). My condolences to her family and friends and everyone whose lives she touched -- I'm sure there are many.

I remember the first time I went to an American diner, which was with Karina and her family when I was in like 7th grade. I had ordered pierogies and they were piping hot, but I was just so hungry that I tried to eat them immediately. I took a bite and obviously it burned, and Karinas mom was like “you gotta wait honey”. This was embarrassing, but she was spitting the facts. To this day, I wait at least 1.5 mins before I eat piping hot food no matter how hungry I am, and I always think of Mrs.Babcock when I see pierogies. Sending lots of love <3

Kathy was a wonderful person that I only had the pleasure of knowing as a student while we grew up together in Lakeview, Valleyview and Morris Knolls. I remember her as incredibly smart, friendly and always always kind to everyone she met. The world lost one of the great ones when she lost her battle with cancer but I will say a prayer for all of her family tonight and am glad to have known her on part of her journey. My sincere condolences and I am so sorry for your and all of our collective loss. - Andy Muller
