Obituary of Renee A. Ballingall-Monico

Please share a memory of Renee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Renee Alicia Ballingall-Monico passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on Monday, May 24, 2021 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s at Arden Courts in Whippany. She had shared 52 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and amazing memories with family and friends.

Born in Orange to the late Robert and Betty Ballingall, Renee was one of two daughters to bless their household. Raised in Denville, she graduated from Morris Knolls High School, Class of 1986. Renee was a hard worker and had quite a few different careers. The most important was her time spent as an Administrative Assistant at Warner-Lambert Pharmaceutical Company in Morris Plains. That is where she met her best friend and soulmate, Anthony Joseph Monico. The happy couple was married in 1999 and remained in Denville to share their lives together.

Caring, compassionate, generous, heart of gold – these attributes don’t even compare to the extraordinary woman that Renee truly was. She was a volunteer for over 20 years at the Denville Food Pantry, she rescued countless kitties that needed a home, and was always there if you needed her. She loved the simple life, and like everyone else, Renee had a few guilty pleasures. She loved renovating her home and often took trips to antique stores, filling up her household with timeless and priceless treasures. Above all, her pride and joy were her family, especially her adored nephews. Although she was taken too soon, we are grateful for the time we were able to spend with Renee and our lives are that much richer for having known her. We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her parents and that we have the greatest Guardian Angel shining down, watching out for our family from above.

She leaves a lifetime of joyful memories to her beloved husband, Anthony; her loving sister, Tracie (Paul) Wexler; her cherished parents-in-law, Darlene and Joseph Monico; her caring sister-in-law, Tara Monico and her fiancé Greg Latza; her treasured nephews, Matthew and Max; her adopted family, Chip and Ken Lesiak; and many other extended family and dear friends.

All services will be private. Renee will be laid to rest with her parents at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover. Memorial Donations are being accepted in her memory by way of www.inmemof.org to The Alzheimer's Association. Please leave a condolence, share your favorite memory of Renee, and light a candle so that we can continue to celebrate the incredible life she endowed to us.
