Helen S. Fowler, 81 died on Sunday Jan. 26, 2003 at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL.
She was born in Boonton, NJ and lived in Denville, NJ, before moving to Florham Park, NJ for 15 years. She moved to Tampa, FL last year.
During WW II she entered service in the Womens Auxillary Corp (WAAC) she was among the first to enlist in the newly formed WAAC, which evolved into the Womens Air Corp (WAC) and lastly, the United States Air Force (USAF) after her marriage. She is a direct descendant of General Anthony Wayne (Revolutionary War) She was a member of the Daughter of American Revolution (DAR), and a former member of the Rock-Den American Legion Post 175, Rockaway, NJ. Mrs. Fowler took great pride in her military service; she was associated thru her work with General Wainwright and Audie Murphy.
She was a dental hygienist with Dr. Cabana in Boonton, NJ and then went to work as a Home Health Aid with Bayada Nurses of Morristown, NJ, retiring in 1990.
She is predeceased by her husband John Leo Fowler who died in 2000. She is survived by her children Linda C. Fowler of Tampa, FL and J. Jeff Fowler of Lebanon, NJ. Her sister Betty Lou Surace of Pompano Beach, FL.
Funeral services will be held on Friday Jan. 31, 2003 at 11:00AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ (973)-627-1880. Friends will be received Friday Morning 9:00AM to time of services.
