Obituary of Daisy Dreisbach

Please share a memory of Daisy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Daisy Dreisbach passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville. She had shard 89 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and incredible moments with family and friends.

Born and raised in New York City to the late Valerio and Patria Caro, she was one of three children to bless the Caro household. She graduated from Commercial High School in NYC before becoming a Professional Secretary. Daisy worked first at US Voice of America, then New York Division of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms before finding her niche at The United Nations Headquarters in NY where she retired as their Bilingual Secretary in 1957. She married the love of her life, Gerry “Skip” Dreisbach, on September 3, 1955; together they spent 25 happy years together before he unfortunately passed away. They met at US Voice of America and settled in Denville to raise their four children the year they were married. Skip and Daisy were true soulmates and although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing they are now reunited in Heaven.

A natural born caregiver, Daisy was the most caring wife, attentive mother, doting grandma, loving great-grandmother, and trusting friend. She was a talented seamstress, knitting many items for her family and friends. She was also a dedicated member of the Morris County Right to Life organization and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church where she knitted many Baptismal Bibs for the babies. Above anything else, family came first in her life. We will forever remember her sparkling eyes, gentle touch, and warm embrace.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Skip, her parents, and her brother, Valerio T. Caro, she leaves only joyful memories to her adored children, Mary Ann Dreisbach, Margaret S. Cross and her husband Alfred M., Paul G. Dreisbach and his wife Margaret M., and Matthew T. Dreisbach and his wife Elizabeth G.; her cherished grandchildren, Alfred G. Cross and his wife Renee, Colin S. Cross, Thomas G. Dreisbach, Joseph R. Dreisbach, Matthew R. Dreisbach, Jeremy P. Dreisbach, Daniel J. Dreisbach, Meghan Moore, and Shawn Moore; her treasured great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Wyatt Cross, Daniel and Aiden Moore; her caring brother, Edward Caro; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 14th at 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 10 North Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Relatives and friends and welcome to visit with the family on Thursday, August 13th from 1 - 4 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Daisy here to continue to celebrate the amazing life she shared with us.
