George & I have great memories of Russ growing up in Indian Lake. He always made people laugh. I was on my way to work in Burlington County many years ago listening to WPLJ when the announcer said next up we have Lt. Russ Allaman of the Denville Police Department. It was the day after he and a group of DPD officers & employees had won the lottery. Russ will be missed. Our condolances to Cheryl, his children and his family.

I can't even begin to tell the wonderful memories of meeting my first Yankee family! And being welcomed with open arms. The bear hugs and rides in the LincolnTownhouse Car. Yes I was laughed at for that one! I have never met a more compassionate man, who was never afraid to tell you the way it was. I was just talking about your dad yesterday Noelle before I heard of his passing. He is already touching the hearts of others from the other side.
I remember his boisterous laugh at the dinner table to which he would welcome anyone wanting to join. Noelle I feel what you are feeling, and wish I could help relieve a little of your families burden. My dad passed 3 1/2 years ago and I cherish the memories I was left with and you are blessed with yours as well. Please let your family know they are in my prayers and anytime you want to call and talk I'm always here.

When we moved to Indian Lake 34 years ago, Russ and Cheryl were the first people to make us feel welcome. Our children grew up together, we attended their weddings, and then their children's Christenings. Russ, I cannot remember a time you did not make us laugh--like leading a Conga Line into the Ladies' Bathroom at the clubhouse dances. We love you and will miss you. Cheryl, Noelle, Russell, Tim and Jen--please accept the deepest sympathies of the Dunbars--Maureen and Mark, along with Matt and Meredith and their families.
God bless all of you and thank you for sharing Russ in our lives.

Cheri,
Accept our deepest sympathies and warmest prayers. We are leaving for New Orleans and the Caribbean tomorrow so we won't be able to express those feelings in person.
I promise to stand tall on the deck of the Navigator of the Seas and raise a glass (or two)to a man who always made everyone feel at home. I think he'd like that.

I only met Russ the first week of November, 2012 as I began working for Quaker Pet Group, where he also worked for a number of years.
So what can you say about a man you only knew for less than 60 days?
Russ was friendly, warm, inviting and engaging. He spoke his mind with authority and with humor, and he was a teller of stories.
He took time to say hello, share a smile, a quick comment, instruct me in a portion of his responsibilities, offer some advice or perspective or a short story.
He stopped me while I was counting during our recent physical inventory to tell me about his grandchildren of whom he was very proud and absolutely glowed as he told me their names and a little bit about each of them.
He was a man of honor, of integrity with an overwhelming aura of pride, respect and yet humble contentment with his life.
While the time I knew Russ was likely shorter than anyone reading this I feel blessed that God allowed me the privilege of meeting him and getting to know him for even this short period of time.
Welcome home my brother, welcome home good and faithful servant.
Our deepest condolences to all of Russ’s family & friends.
With Deepest Sorrow,
Perry & Carol Sella

Psalm 27
Of David.
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked advance against me
to devour[a] me,
it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.
4 One thing I ask from the LORD,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.
6 Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the LORD.
7 Hear my voice when I call, LORD;
be merciful to me and answer me.
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, LORD, I will seek.
9 Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
God my Savior.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
the LORD will receive me.
11 Teach me your way, LORD;
lead me in a straight path
because of my oppressors.
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
spouting malicious accusations.
13 I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.

It is hard to think so far back when Russ and I didn't know each other. Making friends with him was easy and if you were lucky enough to be his friend...you were a friend for life. It was a true priviledge to have him in our lives both from work and socially. Always a new joke and I never heard him tell the same one twice. Goodbye for now dear friend. Cheri I hope you and the family know how much you mean to us and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you all.

Russ, Nobody will ever take your place! The memories will live on forever. We cherish each and every one. The partys; The PBA trips; the dances; the Cruises and your unparalleled wit! Someday we will click glasses again. As I write this I warmly remember the time in Paradise Island when you turned everything in Bill & Val's room upside down and as she screemed at you from the 3rd floor balcony as we all sat around the pool toasting today and the days that would follow. Nobody could pull that off but you. Miss you!!

Unfortunately, I did not know Russell well. We met a few times. BUT... what a great sense of humor he had! Joe was teasing him at the Christmas Party about showing people around and rummaging through their underwear drawer!!! We laughed and he went right along with it! I will cherish that one memory!
