Richard K. Nelson passed away on December 7, 2002 at his home in Lake Hiawatha, NJ. He was 60 years old. Born in Flushing, New York he had moved to Chatham, NJ and lived most of his life in Morris County. He attended Parsons College in Iowa before going into the Navy from 1960 to 1964. He then went on to be a computer operator/engineer/analyst for the next 36 years, working for various companies such as NJ Bell, Chubb & Sons, Exxon Corp. and then Atlas Copco in Wayne, NJ for the last 12 years. Surviving are his daughters: Katherine Stinson of Rockaway, Cynthia Nelson of Rockaway. Son: Andrew Nelson of Chandler, AZ. Two grandchildren, One Nephew. Parents: Charles & Elizabeth Nelson of Denville. Brother: Robert Nelson of Roxbury, NJ. Funeral services will take place at the Funeral Home on Tuesday December 10, at 10:00 AM. Friends may visit from 9:00 10:00AM. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ. InLieu of flowers donations may be made to either Mothers Against Drunk Driving, or the Battered Womens Shelter of Morris County.
