Born and raised in Manhattan, Mary, settled in Denville over 60 years ago. She and her husband raised their family here and loved being a part of this community. Mary was an amazing wife, Mom and Grandma. She always put the needs of her family first…they were her world. When she wasn’t cooking and caring for her own family, she could be found doing good for someone else. Her acts of kindness and generosity to others helped shape the people her children and grandchildren are today. Mary was an example of true beauty, strength and love. For the past five years, Mary resided at St. Francis Health Resort, where she enjoyed all of her friends, extended family and activities. Predeceased by her husband Robert (2002) and her brother George Mantel; she leaves happy memories to her children Robin Fitzgerald (Steven), Kevin Scully (Joan), Gregg Scully, Hugh Scully and Vicki Granzen; adoring grandchildren Christine Fitzgerald Manisera (Conrad), Shaun Fitzgerald (Laura), Kelly (Thomas), Bobby and Conor Fitzgerald, Jennifer Scully Lijo (Jaime), Laura and Matthew Scully, Shauna and Jessica Granzen; her four great grandchildren Rocco, Ryder, Derek and Lily; baby girl Fitzgerald on the way; brother in law James Scully, nieces and nephews Cathy Samartanno (Lou), George Mantel (Maureen), Billy, Celie and Candy Cahill, and Virginia and Sharon Scully; and many more loving relatives and dear friends. “A family can develop only with a loving woman as it’s center.”
