Obituary of Dorothy K. Addison

Dorothy Kathryne (Jones) Addison passed away on August 2, 2010 at Morris View Healthcare Center. She was born in Newark, NJ on July 17, 1918 and also lived in North Arlington, Livingston and Caldwell before moving to Morris Twp. She graduated from St. Peter's Commercial High School in Belleville in 1936. She was an administrative assistant at NJ Blue Cross/Blue Shield and was employed in the medical records department of St. Barnabas Hospital where she continued as a volunteer in the hospital after retirement. Dorothy was a Cub Scout Den Mother and CCD teacher, and a member of the Caldwell Senior Citizens. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed crossword puzzles and bingo. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband John, sisters Alice Gilligan and Marie Buzza, brothers Francis, John and Joseph Jones. She is survived by her sons J. Patrick and his wife Joan of Hackettstown; and Mark and his wife Michele of Kissimmee, Florida; granddaughters Susan Shaw and her husband Robert; and Kathleen Addison; step-grandchildren Conor, Ryan and Corporal Erin Fay, USMC; great-grandchildren Jonathan Addison, Andrew and Kristin Stetzel, and Jessie Agen; step-great grandchildren John and Courtney Shaw. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010, 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home with an 11:30 a.m. mass at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Denville and interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Arrangements are by Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville.
