Miss Hufman was born in New York City grew up and raised in Flushing and in the mid 1990’s moved to Denville. She was a graduate of Columbia University where she received her Bachelor and Master’s degrees, she received her Doctorate in German from NYU. She was a professor in a small German Department at the College of New Rochelle at New Rochelle, NY from the 1930’s thru the 1970’s. She was a dynamic and cultured woman. Her students received a fine education and many went onto secondary and college teaching positions. She was predeceased by her parents Henry S. and Susan Marie (Nee Moran) Hufman. She is survived by her cousin John Walsh. Dorothy’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Dorothy on web site), on Wednesday at 10 am for a 11:30 am Mass of Christian burial service at St. Catherine of Siena Church Mountain Lakes, NJ, interment and committal services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery East Hanover, NJ.
