Peter was born in Hackensack, NJ and graduated from Manhattan College with a business degree. He owned and operated the Pete O’Neill’s Green Pond Inn for 35 years. Peter enjoyed tennis, poker and sports, and was a member of St. Simon the Apostle Church and an usher. Pete was one of six children born to the late William and Helen (Marolf) O’Neill Sr. He was predeceased by his wife Margot O’Neill, his brother William O’Neill Jr. and his sister Mary Jane Kavanagh. He is survived by his wife Romy (Kasprvy) O’Neill his six children, Patrick O’Neill and his wife Mary Kay of Mendham, Peter O’Neill of Morristown, William O’Neill of Washington DC, Joni Huang and her husband Ed of Toronto, Canada, Rosemary Serafin and her husband Keith of Clifton, and Kate Friday and her husband John of Madison, his three step children Daniel Chiariello and his wife Lisa of Sparta, Patlin Chiariello and his wife Melissa of Glenco, MN, and Roy Chiariello and his wife Colleen of Branchburg, his 15 grandchildren, Michael Sternberg, Kayla, Sarah and Matthew O’Neill, Davis and Austin Huang, Keith Jr., Joseph and Margot Serafin, Trey and Drew Friday, David, Jared, Mariah, and Mikayla Chiariello, his sister, Barbara Noone, and his two brothers, James and John O’Neill. Relatives and friends will be received on Friday January 29th from 3-7pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Pete on web site). All are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial service on Saturday January 30th at 10am at St. Simon the Apostle Church, Green Pond, and committal and interment services at Marcella Union Cemetery. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations to St. Simon the Apostle Church.
