Obituary of Kathy D. Clark

Kathy Davis Clark passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Rockaway surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 27, 2026. She had shared 77 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born in Ellenville, New York to the late Charlotte (Symonette) and Joseph Davis, Kathy was one of five children to bless the Davis household. She was raised in Rockaway Township and graduated from Morris Hills High School, Class of 1966. Kathy earned her Registered Nursing License from Mountainside School of Nursing. Her career as an RN spanned over 40 years; she retired from Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville in 2009. Kathy was an excellent nurse because she had a huge heart and a passion for taking care of others.

Her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. Kathy raised her two girls as a single mother and could not have been more proud of them. When they gave her grandchildren, she was “over the moon” and “loved them more than her luggage.” There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her nearest and dearest because she loved with her whole heart. Her faith has been a steadfast anchor in her life. She was a devoted and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway for decades. She devoted much of her time in service to supporting the church, its committees, and its outreach. The relationships she formed there were so important to her; the church would not have been the same without her church family.

Kathy enjoyed traveling! For many years, she took annual “warm-weather” winter trips and also visited many places such as Ireland, Scotland, Paris, China, and more. Her favorite trips were domestically around the US to visit her brothers. When she wasn’t spending time with family, at church, or working, you could find Kathy engulfed in a book. She was very smart and determined. While raising her daughters, she went back to school. Kathy earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Upsala College when Tara graduated high school. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University when Kristie graduated high school.

A light like hers never truly goes out; it lives on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her. She was one of a kind, the absolute best of us, and her memory will guide us forever. She is profoundly missed, but never forgotten.

Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her parents and her brother, Gary J Davis, in the kingdom of heaven. She leaves only joyful memories to her treasured daughters, Tara (Bob) Kinsey and Kristie Rheuport (Corey Tirro); her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Arianna, Kevin, and Sara; her loving siblings, Richard (Carmen), Chris (Debbie), and Bruce (Michael); and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, coworkers, patients and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 10 am at First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway, 35 Church Street, Rockaway, NJ 07866. Inurnment will follow immediately at the Columbarium in First Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church in Kathy’s memory.

Though she will be deeply missed, her kindness, strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched.
