Obituary of Jane DelleMonache

Jane DelleMonache passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by the loving family who meant everything to her. She fought courageously through the injuries she sustained, after being tragically struck by a vehicle, with the constant love and support of relatives. Though her passing was sudden and heartbreaking, she had shared 77 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born on August 22, 1948, in Newark, New Jersey, Jane was the beloved daughter of the late Josephine (Dominici) and Salvatore Russo. She was raised in Newark and graduated from Our Lady of Good Council High School. After dedicating herself to raising her children, she began a career with the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in Newark, where she worked for nearly 24 years before retiring in 2015 as the Senior Docket Clerk.

A vibrant, independent, and endlessly adventurous woman, Jane lived her life with an incredible zest for every moment. She was always on the go and never one to turn down an opportunity when it meant being with the people she loved.

Jane loved gathering with family and friends for special occasions, holidays, or simply going out to dinner, enjoying good conversation and good company. She loved to stay active as well, spending countless hours walking, hiking, and working out.

Above all, Jane was the incredible matriarch of her family. She was a devoted mother, an adored grandmother, a loving sister, and a cherished friend. Her presence brought energy, laughter, and life to every gathering, and her family will forever be grateful for the countless memories, adventures, traditions, and moments of love she gave them.

Jane leaves behind her adored children, Mary Jo (John) Prill and Joe (Roseanne) DelleMonache; her former husband and father of her children, Don DelleMonache; her treasured grandchildren, Nick, Erica (Allen), Nicholas, Joey (Jaclyn), and Domenic; her loving brother, Dominick (Grace) Russo; and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will miss her deeply. She was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and Salvatore Russo, and her beloved brother, Joseph Russo, whom she is now reunited with in Heaven.

Jane leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years or accomplishments, but in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. She taught her family to show up, to make memories, to say yes to the adventure, and most importantly, to cherish the people around them. Her laugh, her spirit, her independence, and her incredible ability to make the most of life will remain with all who knew and loved her.

She was, and always will be, the heart of her family—their beloved Mom, Grandma, sister, aunt, friend, and extraordinary matriarch. All services will be private. Jane will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who knew and loved Jane honor her memory by gathering with the people they love, raising a glass, taking a walk, planning an adventure, or simply saying “yes” to a good time—just as she always did.
