Please share a memory of Magnhild to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Magnhild Ann Andersen passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026 in the comfort of her home at The Oaks Healthcare Center in Denville. She had shared 83 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born in November of 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Kåare and Thelma Ostensen, she was one of four daughters to bless their household. She was raised in Brooklyn and Long Island, New York. After graduating high school, she went on to attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Ultimately, her true passion was being a wife and mother. She married Robert L. Andersen on April 20, 1968. The happy couple settled into the Indian Lake section of Denville in 1973, where they became active members of the community and raised their three children. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit that was unmatched.

The family can take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Robert; her parents; and her sisters, Kari, Sonja, and Ingrid.

She leaves only joyful memories to her adored children, Kory (David) Graham of Knoxville, Tennessee; Britt Andersen of Hilton Head, South Carolina; and Robert (Emily) Andersen of Rochester, Minnesota; and her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Nell, Sam, Claire, Josie, Kai, and Per.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. They have fond memories of spending time with her and eating Norwegian sandwiches.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the incredible caregivers and staff at The Oaks, who treated her like family even when hers couldn’t be there.

All services will be private.
