Obituary of Kerry A. Episcopo

Please share a memory of Kerry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kerry A. Episcopo passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, New Jersey. She had shared 82 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born on February 16, 1944, in New York City, Kerry was the daughter of the late Alice (Byrne) Carney and Joseph James Carney. She was the fourth of six children and was raised in the Smithtown, Long Island and Kew Gardens, Queens. Kerry graduated from Richmond Hill High School in Richmond Hill, Queens, with the Class of 1959. She began her career as a clerk with Equitable Financial Life Insurance Company in New York City, where she worked for ten years. Throughout the years that followed, Kerry held a variety of jobs across New Jersey and New York, always keeping herself busy and embracing new opportunities.

In 1971, Kerry married her best friend, Nicholas P. Episcopo, and moved to New Jersey at the age of 27. Together they built a life filled with love until Nicholas's passing in 1997. Over the years, Kerry called several New Jersey communities home, including Wayne, Parsippany, Sussex County, and Dover, where she ultimately settled.

Kerry's greatest joy and highest priority in life was her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Dover, New Jersey, and deeply cherished her congregation, whom she considered family. She continually sought to live according to her beliefs, striving each day to become the best version of herself. She found great comfort and happiness in reading the Bible and was an avid reader throughout her life. In quieter moments, she enjoyed one of her favorite pastimes—watching the Game Show Network, a simple pleasure that always brought a smile to her face.

Kerry will be dearly missed by her loving siblings: her brother, Brian Carney of Hungary; her sister, Mary Peaty of Massachusetts; and her brother, Joseph Carney and his wife, Cathy, of Florida. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and her cherished church family, all of whom will remember her kindness, steadfast faith, and gentle spirit.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be announced at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 156 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Dover, New Jersey 07801.

Kerry's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and love. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to Jehovah, her love of family and friends, and the quiet strength and grace with which she lived her life.
