Obituary of Benjamin C. Maolucci

Benjamin C. Maolucci passed away peacefully at his home in Denville, New Jersey, on June 30, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Benjamin was the son of the late Benjamin and Nancy (Palermo) Maolucci. In 1973, he made Denville his home, where he spent the remainder of his life surrounded by family and friends.

A 1959 graduate of The Newark Public School of Fine and Industrial Art, Benjamin combined his artistic talents with his profession as an interior designer. He worked for Theodore Weiss and Associates in Livingston, New Jersey, for many years before retiring in 1997.

Benjamin had a lifelong passion for the arts. A gifted artist, he found joy in drawing, painting, playing the piano, and refinishing furniture. His creativity was evident in everything he did. Above all, Benjamin treasured time spent with his family. He loved welcoming company into his home, looked forward to Sunday family dinners, and never passed up dessert—especially a slice of cake, one of his favorite treats.

Benjamin is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Joan (Zabatta) Maolucci of Denville; his loving daughter, Donna Testa and her husband, Angelo, of Denville; and his son, Christopher Maolucci, also of Denville. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6:20 p.m.

Benjamin’s big-hearted, artistic spirit, and love for his family will be remembered always, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
