Obituary of Karen Marie Huebner

Karen Marie Huebner passed away peacefully in her home in Folly Beach, South Carolina, at the age of 82.

Born on September 12, 1943 in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Cora (McMahon) Huebner and late Alfred Huebner. A graduate of Morris Catholic High School in Denville, New Jersey, and Misericordia College in Pennsylvania, she married John E. Sasso and moved to South Windsor, Connecticut, where she raised her two children, Suzanne and Daniel. She later made Folly Beach her home and worked as an office administrator at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) until her retirement.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, and survived by Suzanne Sasso Deane (Daughter) and husband John Deane, Daniel Sasso (Son), Allen Huebner (Brother,) his wife Diane, and nephew Robert and his wife Maureen, James Huebner (Brother), his wife Jan, and their children Amy, Brian, and Elise, Tom Huebner (Brother) and his wife Debbie, John Huebner (Brother), and grandsons Spencer Deane, Gavin Deane, and Cameron Deane.

Karen will be remembered for her love of the beach, warm weather, biking, and reading, and for the joy she found in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She had a kind, warm, and generous spirit that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at Denville Cemetery on Monday June 29th at 3:00 pm, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and grandparents, with a reception to follow at Caffe NaVona in Rockaway, NJ.
