Obituary of Patricia D'Andrea

Patricia May D'Andrea (Pat) passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on June 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born on May 9, 1944, in Staten Island, New York, to Edward and Gertrude Wagner. She was raised there with her brother, Edward, and an extended, loving, boisterous family.

In 1963, Pat married Frank D'Andrea and together they were blessed with four children who remained the greatest joy and pride in her life. She leaves behind: her children, Catherine Schultz (Robert), Janet D'Andrea, Karin Pakenham (Barry), and Andrew D'Andrea (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Ryan Gleason (Reagan), Kevin Gleason (Allison), Erin Gleason (Gary), Katie Pakenham (Federico), Brian Pakenham, Keri Pakenham, and Mairi D'Andrea; her great-grandchildren, Fiona Gleason, Evelyn Gleason, Molly Gleason, Clara Gleason, and Aaliyah Dipsey; her brother, Edward Wagner (Ann Marie); her brother-in-law, James D'Andrea (Rita); her best friend of 71 years, Madeline Wallace (Mike); and a wealth of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

After leaving Staten Island in the mid-70's, Pat spent most of her remaining years in the Ocean County area. Pat dedicated more than 26 years of service as a library assistant with the Ocean County Library  where she made many enduring friendships. In 2022, she moved to Northern New Jersey with her daughter Janet in order to be closer to some of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a life-long Mets and Giants fan, loved reading, crocheting treasured items, including baby blankets, endless Hallmark movies, and a good diner breakfast. Some of her favorite places were Shoprite, Kohls and Target (where she lovingly enjoyed spoiling her great-granddaughters with outfits for every season). 

She was a wonderful friend and neighbor and, above all else, loved spending time with her family. 

Just as important as her love for family was her deep Catholic faith and devotion to the Blessed Mother. Her unwavering belief in God guided her throughout her life, making her the strong, loving, caring, and generous woman she was—not only to her family, but to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

While her passing brings great sadness, we take comfort in knowing that her kindness and compassion touched the lives of so many others.

A public visitation for Patricia will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 10 to 12 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services of Denville, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 PM at St. Mary’s Church of Denville.
