Obituary of Daniel Albert Edwards Sr.

Daniel Albert Edwards, of the Villages, Florida, passed away on May 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud American whose life reflected loyalty, service, and deep affection for the people and traditions he cherished.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Judith, and their loving children Kimberley, Kristen, and Daniel and his wife Lisa, his brother Charles (Gary) Walker, as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was the treasured grandfather of four grandchildren, Daniel, Scarlett, Nathan and AJ, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He is predeceased by his father, Daniel Edwards, and his mother, Alberta Edwards (Angley), whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.

Daniel was born in Newark, and grew up in Cedar Grove, then moved to Denville, NJ in 1973 where he raised his family, he proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a Corpsman, and was a dedicated participant in the American Legion Post 390 and numerous veteran's organizations. Daniel found purpose and camaraderie in honoring those who served. His commitment to these communities was unwavering, and he valued the friendships and shared experiences they brought into his life.

He worked in the carpenter's union as a millwright, before retiring from his position as Director of Facilities Maintenance at Rutgers University.

Daniel was known for his sharp wit, generous spirit, and unmistakable fondness for Tullamore Dew, a small pleasure that always brought a smile to his face. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with family, he had a way of making others feel grounded and cared for.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and service, one that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday May 20, 2026, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. from 5:00PM to 7:30PM with Military Honors and American Legion service to follow at 7:30PM.
