Obituary of Maria Pia Giacomarra
Maria Pia Giacomarra, 86, of Cedar Knolls, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on April 6, 2026.
Maria Pia was born to Calogero and Calogera Gagliardo in Petralia Sottana, Sicily, Italy. She married the love of her life, Giuseppe Giacomarra and relocated to the US to raise their two daughters.
Maria Pia lived her life with kindness and grace, and her family always came first. Maria leaves behind her loving daughters, Ines Virga and her husband Carlo, Lina Pisciotta and her husband Carlo, her beloved grandchildren that she adored, Simona, Charles, Giulia, Giancarlo, her siblings, Gabriel Gagliardo and his wife Diane, Natale Gagliardo and his wife, Maria, Joseph Gagliardo, Rita Faulkner, her sister-in-law, Pierina Gagliardo, a wealth of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband and her brother, Tony Gagliardo.
Hours of public visitation for Maria Pia will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 10, at 10:30 AM at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church located at 75 Ridgedale Ave, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927, followed by an entombment service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery located at 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria Pia Giacomarra’s memory to the Breast Cancer Patient Support c/o the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, 310 South Street, 4th Floor, Morristown, NJ 07960. Donations may also be made on line at www.f4mmc.org.
