Obituary of James Wong Horn
James Wong Horn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Denville, New Jersey, surrounded by his loving wife, Dolores, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the age of 61.
Born on a sunny day in August of 1964, in Orange, New Jersey, James was raised in the area and graduated from high school there. He was one of six children, born to Wong Horn and Fung Ying Chu. James worked tirelessly throughout his life, always providing for his family with a heart full of love and dedication. He spent many years as a Dairy Grocery Manager for Kings Food Markets across New Jersey, later working for QuickChek, before his health became too fragile to continue working.
James was a man of many qualities, but perhaps his most notable was his deep commitment to his family. He was a true partner to his wife, Dolores Marie Belmonte, whom he married in 2001. Together, they shared a beautiful life built on love, respect, and hard work. The couple supported each other in raising their children, often taking turns with their demanding schedules. James worked all day and helped care for the kids in the evenings while Dolores worked the night shift to help support their family. It was this kind of sacrifice and teamwork that made James an incredible husband, father, and grandfather.
Beyond his hard work, James was a gifted cook, and he found joy in preparing meals for his loved ones. He was always there to lend a hand and never complained, no matter the task. Whether it was helping around the house, supporting his family in any way, or simply offering his gentle presence, James made everything better with his kindness and steady spirit. James was not just a great provider, but a rock for his family. He showed the true meaning of love, support, and resilience, especially during his courageous battle with cancer. His strength, even in the face of illness, was a testament to the incredible man he was.
James leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and strength that will be carried on by his wife Dolores; their children, Matteo Belmonte, Nicolas Horn, Gina, Melissa, and Angelina Gargiule; cherished grandchildren, Anthony Villarreal, Jonathan Henke, Dante Hill, D’Angelo Ortiz, and Zachary Hill; and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be missed deeply but will forever be remembered for the immense love he gave and the beautiful life he built with his family.
Please leave a condolence, gesture, or share your favorite memory of James here to continue to celebrate his life and let his light shine.
