Obituary of Louis File, Jr.

Please share a memory of Louis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Louis File, Jr., passed away on January 29, 2026, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville.

Louis was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved the outdoors and had a deep curiosity for seeing new places. Through his travels, he discovered a passion for treasure hunting. With a metal detector in hand, Louis could spend hours scanning beaches for lost treasures or walking fields in search of long-forgotten antique pieces. He was also an avid fisherman and found peace in the quiet beauty of an early, misty morning on the lake.

A true music lover, Louis appreciated all genres of music. This love evolved into a remarkable talent when he picked up a guitar, quickly mastering the skills needed to play his favorite songs. In addition to the guitar, Louis was also skilled at the piano, sharing his love of music through both instruments.

Above all else, Louis cherished his family. He is survived by his siblings, Laura Pappolla and Frank and his wife Tinamarie Pollara; his beloved nieces and nephews, Jordyn Pappolla, Pierson Pappolla, and Arianna Pollara; his aunt, Elaine Walthour; and many dear friends who will remember him fondly for his kind spirit, quiet passions, and love of life. We take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with the ones he loved most; his wife, Doreen File, and his son, Jason File.

Louis will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Please take this time to share a memory, leave a condolence, or light a candle to continue to let Louis’ light shine!
