Obituary of Christine Margaret Pocsi

Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Christine Margaret Pocsi, age 54, was called home on January 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family.

Christine was born on July 3, 1971, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Charles and Janice Pocsi. She shared her birthday with her beloved mother, a coincidence that always felt special to the both of them. Christine was raised for a time in Elmwood Park before her family settled in the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway, where she spent much of her youth.

She graduated from Morris Hills High School in 1989 and went on to further her education at the Chubb Institute, where she developed the skills that launched her career in Information Technology. Christine worked in a variety of roles over the years, most notably spending many years at Valley National Bank as an Application Support Specialist, where she was valued for her knowledge, dedication, and quiet reliability.

Outside of work, Christine embraced her creative passions. She loved music and found joy and inspiration in art and books. A devoted reader, Christine was also a writer who explored fiction, short stories, and autobiographies. She was immensely proud and overjoyed when one of her stories was published, an achievement that meant a great deal to her.

Above all else, Christine cherished her family. She treasured time spent together, particularly during the holidays, and those moments meant everything to her. Her nephew, Jack Pocsi, held a very special place in her heart, and she took great joy in watching him grow into the bright young man he is today.

Christine was also a devoted dog mom. Her pup, Jessie, was her constant companion and best friend, bringing her comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.

Christine will be remembered for her creativity, her love of learning, her devotion to family, and the quiet warmth she brought into the lives of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Christine is survived by her beloved parents, Janice (Kuhlkin) and Charles Pocsi, Jr.; her loving brother, Joseph Pocsi and his wife Tammy; her cherished nephew, Jack; her treasured friend, Kim; her caring aunts and uncles, Joan DellaPesca, Anthony and Valerie Schreck, Denise Assante; and her many cousins who will remember her fondly.

She now joins her loved ones who passed before her; her paternal grandparents, Charles & Irene Pocsi, and her maternal grandparents, Genevieve & Louis Kuhlkin.
