Obituary of Robert Andreassen

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert Andreassen, 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Rockaway Township, New Jersey, on January 26, 2026.

Born in Dover, New Jersey, Rob was the beloved son of the late Alf and Gerd (Larsen) Andreassen. He was a lifelong resident of Rockaway Township, where he took great pride in his home and community.

Rob dedicated 40 years of service to Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) in Morristown, beginning his career as a lineman and later advancing to supervisor. He retired in 2005, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, reliability, and commitment.

An avid golfer, Rob enjoyed many rounds at Picatinny Golf Club and Berkshire Valley Golf Club, where he proudly achieved a hole-in-one in the summer of 2025. He was also a lifelong sports enthusiast who played ice hockey for Morris Knolls High School and enjoyed snow skiing. At home, he could often be found watching the History Channel.

Rob had a deep appreciation for classic cars, especially Corvettes. Over the years, he owned a 1980 Corvette, a 1973 Corvette, and a 1966 Stingray. He also took great pride in his 2018 Chevy Silverado.

He is survived by his loving partner, Susan Shay of Denville; his extended family, Brian (Shea) Shay of Lake Shawnee, Samantha (Ryan) Mein of Denville, Linda (Jeff) Kacur of Denville, Robert (Andrea) Gantert and their children, Emma and Robbie; his sister, Carol (Roger) McKeon of Lakewood; his nephew, Jefferey (Stephanie) McKeon of Rockaway; his nephew, Steven (Randall) McKeon of Florida; and his niece, Erika McKeon of Brick.
