Obituary of Gerry Primavera
Gerald "Gerry" Primavera, of White Meadow Lake in Rockaway Township, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the age of 73, holding hands with his wife Helen as they had for the past 46 years.
Born on Friday, May 23, 1952 in Norwalk CT to Marian & George, Gerry lived in Marianna Florida, Kearny, and North Bergen before settling in White Meadow Lake. Gerry was an avid Ham Radio operator, under the call sign WA2SLR, and worked in 2 way Radio Communications sales and service for Warner Communications and Pinnacle Communications.
Their home on the lake allowed them to do all of the things he loved the most - sit on the beach, fish, boat and kayak. Gerry loved having family at their home for BBQs and a ride on the boat. They used their camper to travel the East Coast, visiting Assateague annually for weeks at a time, and then visiting all of their nieces and nephews at home and college on the way home. He was a very active resident in the White Meadow Lake community - serving as Lake Committee Chair, Board President & Treasurer.
Gerry was a loving family man, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his adored family members, his beloved wife of 46 years, Helen Primavera (Angione); his loving siblings, Annette (Martin) Brooks, Dominick (Lilian) Angione, Diane (Pat) Taylor, and Nancy (the late Daniel) Angione; his cherished nieces and nephews, Ryan (Laura) Brooks, Cassandra (Matthew) Vozzo, Emily Brooks, (the late) Dominick, Samantha (Corey) Leeds, Dean (Kim) Taylor, Dana (Vince) Lanzendorfer, Michele Stanley, Joe (Theresa) Angione; his treasured great-nieces and great-nephews, Madison, Dominick "DJ", Leah, Zane, Mikaella, Daniel, Brianna, Adrianna, Jacob, Brooklynn, Zachary, Kennedy; cousins Owen (Jackie) Primavera and many dear extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with the family on Wednesday, January 21st from 4 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, New Jersey. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, January 22nd. Friends are welcome to arrive at 9:30 am for the celebration at 10:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Morristown Memorial Hospital, Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute via https://www.f4mmc.org/donate-now/.
In addition to the unforgettable memories held by his family, we invite those who knew Gerry to share their favorite stories, memories, or words of tribute on normandean.com. Gerry touched the lives of many, and we believe his legacy is best honored through the stories and experiences of all who were fortunate enough to know him; let his light shine bright for eternity.
