Obituary of John Joseph Wisniewski

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John Joseph Wisniewski passed away at home on January 1, 2026. He was lovingly known as “JJ” in his younger years and later endearingly nicknamed “Wiz” by friends during his teens and young adulthood. To many, especially as he grew older, he was simply John or John, Jr., proudly sharing his name with his father. He had shared 48 years making this world a better place.

Born on November 22, 1977, in Morristown, New Jersey, John was raised in Morristown and Randolph alongside his older brother, Kevin, by his loving parents, Carol Patricia (Bowers) Wisniewski and John Walter Wisniewski and Grandparents, Harry and Mary Bowers and Fred and Charlotte Green. From childhood on, family was the foundation of John’s life.

Growing up, John and Kevin shared countless memories filled with imagination, laughter, and brotherhood—horseback rides, He-Man adventures, Marvel comics, and television shows, especially Spider-Man. Kevin also fondly remembers their time working together at Randolph Mobile during the 1990s, years marked by camaraderie, pride, and friendship.

John graduated from Randolph High School, Class of 1997, and went on to become a hardworking, dedicated, and passionate professional. In 2009, he fulfilled a dream by opening Johnny Jr.’s Pizzeria on Main Street in Newton. For more than a decade, he poured his heart into making pizzas, serving the community, and building lasting relationships. Even after selling the business in 2020, John continued to work there, a testament to his loyalty and strong work ethic.

Above all, John was a caregiver at heart. From 2016 until 2021, he lovingly cared for his father following the passing of his grandmother, demonstrating selflessness, devotion, and quiet strength. He would help anyone who needed it—at any time—without hesitation.

John was down-to-earth, funny, and deeply genuine. He loved Doctor Who, WWE wrestling, collecting coins and license plates, enjoying good beer or toke, and spending time with the people he loved. Family was always number one in his life—including his cherished cat, Chloe, who held a very special place in his heart.

An avid car enthusiast, John especially loved driving electric Subaru vehicles, though he was always on the lookout for his dream car: a 1962 Buick Special, the same model his grandparents once owned. His favorite meal was Thanksgiving—fitting for someone who treasured togetherness, tradition, and gratitude.

His legacy will live on in the hearts of his adored family; his treasured brother, Kevin (Maryanne) Wisniewski; his cherished nieces and nephews, Kylie, Kurt, and Cal; his caring aunt, Barbara (Gary Paliukaitis) Bezaniuk; his uncle, Zenon Bezaniuk; his cousins, Dan Bezaniuk, Chris Bhatti, Brian Wisniewski, and Scott Wisniewski and their families; his faithful kitty cat, Chloe; and many more extended family and friends.

John will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, alongside his parents.

The family will be setting up a GoFundMe to assist with final expenses and to help plan a Celebration of Life honoring John’s memory. Please share your condolences and memories at www.normandean.com. His family will cherish John’s memory forever.

John—JJ, Wiz, John, Jr.—will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, humor, and the unwavering love he gave to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
