Elsie was my mother's Maid of Honor at her wedding. Elsie made my mother's wedding dress. Elsie and my mother, Ramona Bjorkman Thompson, were cousins and had a life long friendship.

Elsie was a terrific person and shared an exceptional friendship with my mother. They were the best of friends, and Mom couldn’t have asked for a better friend during her formative years. They embarked on numerous adventures together, and despite growing apart as they grew older and got married, they remained in touch throughout their lives. Although both are now gone, I’m certain they’re in heaven, continuing their adventures on the next plane of existence. Though I only knew Elsie briefly in my early years, her laughter and sense of humor left an indelible impression on me.
Elsie was also a great cook, and her Swedish meatballs were simply out of this world. I’m grateful for the wonderful friendship Elsie and my mother shared. She will be deeply missed. She was a wonderful person and we’re blessed to have the privilege of knowing someone like her in our lives.

Dear Ingrid and family,
We offer our most sincere condolences on the loss of your dear mother. We are sad to hear of her passing. She will be missed! We remember the stories of the Swedish cousins' childhood friendship that lasted over 90 years with our mother....the stories we heard over and over again will live on in our hearts. She and our mother could talk for an hour on the phone and laugh the whole time. We loved her funny cards and the long letters Elsie would send. Our mother would read them over and over again. She meant so much to our mother! We love her for that! We also remember her Swedish meatballs! They were the best! Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
With all our love,
the family of Ramona Bjorkman Thompson,
Eric Thompson, Ted Thompson, Pamela Zeugin, Becky Ellenberger
