Obituary of Lynn Capecci
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Capecci, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away on December 20, 2025, at 67 years old after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Lynn was born on March 13, 1958, in Passaic, New Jersey, to a loving family that would become the foundation of her vibrant life. She grew up in Elmwood Park with her six siblings and graduated from Elmwood Park High School in 1976. Her early years were filled with laughter, love, and a sense of community that would stay with her throughout her life. One of Lynn's first jobs was at the iconic Pizzatown USA, where she worked making Zeppolis; a task that would unknowingly lead her to the love of her life. It was there that she met Frank Capecci, a young man making pizzas, and their connection was immediate. Their love blossomed quickly, and the couple was married on June 18, 1977, in a ceremony filled with joy and excitement. Together, they built a family, starting in Oakland, New Jersey, and raising three sons, whom Lynn adored with all her heart.
To those who knew her, Lynn was much more than a mother; she was the matriarch of her family. Her home was always open to family and friends, especially during the holidays, when she took on the role of host with great pride and meticulous attention to detail. Her laughter and love filled every gathering. Lynn was the glue that kept the family together, ensuring that every person felt cared for and cherished.
In addition to her role as mother, Lynn was a devoted grandmother. She found joy in every moment spent with her grandchildren, hosting sleepovers, parties, and making memories that will last a lifetime. Her love and devotion to them were unmatched, and she cherished each opportunity to spend time with her grandkids.
Lynn loved to travel, savoring different cultures and beautiful places. Italy and Hawaii were some of her favorite destinations. She loved planning family trips, making memories for all to share. Most recently, she and Frank embraced camping in their Airstream and loved taking trips with friends, their grandchildren, and their beloved golden retriever, Luna.
A gifted cook, Lynn never missed an opportunity to prepare a delicious, home cooked meal, always ready to nourish those she loved. Her cooking was a hallmark of her love and care, and her kitchen was a place where family and friends gathered, sharing stories, laughter, and good food. Lynn also had a deep love for the beach, and many cherished memories were made during the family's trips to their beach house in Ship Bottom, Long Beach Island (LBI). The sound of the ocean and the warmth of family surrounded her in those special moments.
Lynn and Frank made their home in Kinnelon in 2004, where they were members of Our Lady of the Magnificat Church. Lynn’s faith was a central part of her life, and she found peace and comfort in her church community, which became like an extended family to her. Her faith guided her through both joyous and difficult times, and she was a spiritual advisor to many, taking great pride in her role as a godmother to several children.
Lynn was a true embodiment of kindness, generosity, and love. She gave freely of herself, never hesitating to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. Her strength, courage, and unwavering love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lynn is survived by her beloved husband Frank, their two sons, Joseph Capecci (Katie), Steven Capecci (Jennifer), her grandchildren, Leah, Matteo, Joshua, Sabrina, her siblings, Robert Klesitz (Michelle), Roxi Williams (the late John), Rhonda Fitzsimmons (John), Carol Davis, Stanley Gusciora, her dearest friend, Donna Ambrose (Mike McCoy), as well as friends and a large extended family who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley Gusciora and Constance Klesitz, and Lynn's step father Robert Klesitz, her beloved son, Robert Capecci, and her sister, Paula Velasquez (Tingo).
