Obituary of Robert Allen Lind

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Robert Allen Lind announces his passing on December 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was a man whose dedication to his craft, devotion to his family, and zest for life left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Born on September 4 in New York City to Walter and Annie Lind, Robert grew up in Teaneck, NJ alongside his two siblings. He graduated from Teaneck High School, and soon after, he embarked on a career that would span his entire life. Robert joined the local electricians Union, Local No. 3, where he was trained in the electrical trade. He remained with the union throughout his entire career, earning the respect of his colleagues and clients for his expertise and dedication to his work. In addition to his professional achievements, Robert proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and continued as a reservist, showing his unwavering commitment to serving his country.

Robert’s true joy in life, however, came from his family. He met the love of his life, Karen Carlson, and they were married, embarking on a life full of love and adventure. The couple moved to Denville, NJ, where they raised four children. Robert was a devoted father who supported his children in everything they did, always present at their school and sporting events. His children will forever cherish the memories of their annual trips to Long Beach Island, where they enjoyed the sun and waves together. These trips became even more special as Robert and Karen were blessed with grandchildren, and the tradition continued, creating lifelong memories for generations to come.

Outside of his family life, Robert was a true outdoorsman. He had a deep love for nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and simply appreciating the beauty of the great outdoors. He was a long-time member of the Monterosa Hunting Club in New York and later spent time at various hunting clubs throughout Morris County. Robert also had a passion for cars, particularly his cherished 1962 Corvette, which he took great pride in maintaining and enjoyed driving on warm summer days.

Robert lived his life with an infectious sense of humor and a passion for adventure. His family and friends will remember him as a fun-loving, caring man who always made those around him feel welcome and valued. Whether sharing a laugh, lending a helping hand, or enjoying the simple pleasures in life, Robert’s presence was a gift to all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; their four children; Nicole McCarter (Bruce), Kevin Lind (Susie), Keith Lind (Stephanie), Kristian Lind (Natalie), his grandchildren; Ashlyn, Bryan, Avery, Alta, Eva, Brenner, Hunter, Landre, his sister; Laurie Chadwick (Jack), as well as a wealth of extended family members and friends.

Hours of Memorial visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, December 26, from 2 to 4 PM with a funeral service to begin at 3:30 PM. Due to the busy time of the holiday season, the family has chosen not to have a repast after the service. All are welcome to join us in celebrating Robert’s life, and please leave a condolence, share a memory, or light a candle to continue to let Robert’s light shine!
