Obituary of Helen Marie Pohler

Helen Marie Pohler, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Rockaway Township, New Jersey, on December 14, 2025.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Helen spent her life devoted to her family and friends. She previously resided in Wyckoff, New Jersey and Lanoka Harbor, creating many cherished memories in each community she called home.

Helen was an avid reader with a lifelong love of books. She adored her beloved cat, Pumpkin, and had a special way with animals becoming a magnet for all the family cats and dogs. Helen deeply enjoyed time at the beach and soaking up the sun any chance she would get.  She especially enjoyed her time in Florida with friends and entertaining at her home in Lanoka Harbor.

Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman George Pohler, in 2015, and by her cherished daughter, Patricia Eileen Pohler, also in 2015

She is survived by her loving daughter, Penny Hellar and son-in-law Richard Hellar; her grandchildren, Collin Pohler, Ashley Joseph, Ryan Hellar, Justin Hellar (Mandy Spatuzzi), and Kristen Hellar; and her great-grandchildren, Serenity, Jameson, Amelia, Athena, and Theodore.

Helen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, friends and pets, and the quiet kindness she shared with all who knew her.
