Obituary of Eileen Margaret Conlon
Eileen M. Conlon, beloved daughter, sister, friend, and caregiver, passed away at her home on December 8, 2025, after bravely facing a short illness. Her home was her happy place where she felt comfort and peace. A place where illness and pain sometimes be felt absent.
Born on January 3, 1966, in Denville, New Jersey, Eileen was the cherished daughter of Sue and Ray Conlon. She grew up in a warm and lively household alongside her two brothers, Kevin and Brian, forming bonds that remained strong throughout her life. From an early age, Eileen showed a deep compassion for others, a quality that would ultimately shape her life’s work. Growing up in that little house on Harmony Lane in Denville, her life was filled with cherished memories
where family values came first. Family vacations were everywhere and every year. Christmas’s, and birthdays were abundant. Her parents gave her and her brothers a wonderful life. Their children always came first. They still do. To her brothers, she was a protector and mentor. For her younger brother Brian, he found a safety net in life as she was the go-to when he needed direction, guidance, and unconditional love. A little piece of her heart was lost in 1989 when her beloved brother Kevin passed away. As kids she protected him against the neighborhood bullies, and in high school, you wouldn’t have wanted to get in her way if you thought about messing
with Kevin. She later dedicated a song in his memory, “Wind Beneath my Wings” as his soft, loving soul quietly guided her to become the strong woman she became without seeking recognition. The both are truly missed.
After graduating from high school, Eileen continued her education and discovered her calling in nursing. She devoted her entire career to neonatal care, serving as a neonatal nurse with extraordinary dedication and tenderness. Over the decades, she cared for, and in many cases helped save, the lives of thousands of infants. Her gentle hands, steady presence, and unwavering commitment brought comfort to countless families. Eileen approached her work with humility and purpose, often taking on long or difficult hours without hesitation. The impact she made in her field will be remembered by the many lives she touched.
Outside the hospital, Eileen found joy in the simple and beautiful parts of life. She was a passionate gardener who could spend hours tending to her flowers, cultivating her garden, and thoughtfully landscaping her outdoor spaces. It is in these peaceful, warm sunlit areas is where she felt closest to God and free from any illness and pain. Animals held a special place in her heart; she adored her canine companions and generously gave her time volunteering at the Tranquility Horse Farm. Her beloved dog, Gideon, gave her comfort and unconditional love, not only over the past 13 years, but more importantly during her time of illness. Eileen also had a love for the stars and the heavens above us—an avid admirer of astronomy, she often spent evenings gazing skyward, mapping constellations like a personal atlas in the night sky. She wasn’t on social media frequently, but if she was, she was scrolling through pages dedicated to the beauty and mystery of the vast universe above us. If there was a sunset over a lake, Eileen would find it and sit quietly in peace. She had strong faith. To Eileen, there was no question that a loving God was always by her side.
Above all, Eileen loved her family. She treasured every moment spent with them, and her stories of shared laughter, holidays, and adventures will live on. One of her most cherished memories was her trip to Scotland with her mother, Sue; a journey filled with beauty, connection, and wonder.
Eileen will be remembered for her quick wit, her bright mind, her caring nature, and her remarkable ability to bring comfort to those around her. She leaves behind her family, her mother, Sue Conlon, her brother, Brian Conlon and his wife, Lauren, her cherished nieces and nephews, Hunter Bannon, Mason Bannon, Madeleine Tilelli, Kennice Conlon, Sabrina Conlon, as well as many friends and colleagues. We take comfort in knowing that Eileen is now reunited in paradise with her father, Raymond, and her brother, Kevin.
Hours of Public visitation for Eileen will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 12 to 4 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 15, at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myer’s Ave, Denville, with a procession to follow for an interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ. Please join us in celebrating the life of this incredible woman, and please leave a condolence, share a memory, or light a candle to continue to let Eileen’s light shine!
