Obituary of Janelle Godfrey
From a young age, Janelle was also raised by her stepfather, Terry Reilly. Terry loved and supported her as though she were his daughter, and his presence played a meaningful role throughout her life.
Janelle adored her younger sister, Morgan. She embraced being a big sister in every way. Their relationship grew into a strong, lasting bond that meant the world to Janelle.
Janelle also shared a close relationship with her cousin Travis. They grew up side by side, creating memories that shaped them both. She spent many weekends, holidays and trips with Travis, Uncle Brandon (Uncle Brandy) and Aunt Jill. The connection they shared remained important to Janelle throughout her lifetime.
After high school, Janelle found her talent for cosmetology. She had a natural ability to help people feel good about themselves, and this became one of the many ways she connected with others.
She had a lifelong love for animals—caring for pets ranging from dogs and cats to snakes—with patience and affection. She will be remembered for her caring, genuine nature, with a passion for adventure.
Janelle had many close friends who cared deeply for her. She valued these relationships, and those who knew her will remember her sincerity, her humor, and her willingness to be there for others.
Sadly, throughout her life, Janelle faced mental health challenges, something many young people struggle with. Her family hopes that her story encourages greater understanding and compassion for those who carry these burdens quietly.
Janelle is survived by her mother, Sheri Iurato Godfrey (Brendan Sharp), her stepfather, Terry Reilly, her sister, Morgan Caivano (Phil), her Uncle Brandon, Aunt Jill, cousin Travis, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins on both the Godfrey and Iurato sides of the family. She will be deeply missed.
A celebration for life is scheduled for January 10, 2026. Location and details to be communicated at a later time. We invite you to share a memory, leave a condolence, or light a candle in Janelle’s honor.
