Obituary of Carrol L. Pierson
Carrol L. Pierson passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by the love and light she had created within her family, at Mira Vie Assisted Living in Montville, NJ. For 82 years, she poured unconditional love, infectious laughter, and cherished memories into the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Dover, NJ, to the late Mildred and Harold Nesbit, Carrol was the only daughter in a lively household. Raised in Wharton with her brothers, Harold and Joseph, she attended Dover High School. Her passion for beauty led her to excel in cosmetology school, where she earned her certificate and state license. Carrol’s warm spirit and skilled hands made her a beloved teacher—first at Wilfred Academy of Beauty in Passaic, and later at Joseph Paterno College of Beauty Culture in Dover, from which she retired in 2000. To her clients and students, she was more than a beautician; she was a bringer of confidence and joy.
On July 15, 1966, Carrol married her soulmate, Frederick Pierson. Together, they built a joyful home in Rockaway, filling it with love and family.
Carrol’s heart bloomed in her garden, where vegetables and flowers thrived under her tender care, and in the salon, where her artistry transformed hair and lifted spirits. She was the sweetest soul, the most devoted mother, and the proudest grandmother. She delighted in babysitting her grandsons when they were small and never missed a milestone, cheering them on with unwavering pride. Time with family was her greatest treasure.
Though our hearts ache with her absence, we are comforted knowing Carrol is reunited with her beloved Frederick; her parents, Mildred and Harold Nesbit; and her brothers, Harold and Joseph Nesbit.
She leaves a legacy of joy to her adored daughter, Kimberley Pierson-Scott, and caring son-in-law Mark Scott of Wayne; and to her treasured grandsons, Trevor and Brendan Scott, who brightened her life immeasurably.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family on Saturday, November 15th from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Memory-sharing will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by burial at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Avenue, East Hanover. Please share your favorite memory of Carrol here, keeping her radiant light alive in our hearts and words.
