Obituary of Margaret M. Healy
Margaret Mary Healy (nee Courtney), born on September 21, 1946, in Bronx, NY was sent to her eternal home on October 11, 2025, in Morristown, New Jersey, due to a brief illness. She was the beloved mother of Carol Maffei (Lou), Kevin (Katrina), Deirdre Romero (Nahum), Michael and Matthew (Kim).
Maggie, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her children, Margaret is survived by her grandchildren, Brian, Christopher, Tara, Anthony, Bridget and Timothy, her brother James Courtney and sister-in-law Nora, and brother John Courtney and sister-in-law Kathy. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick.
After her graduation from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in 1964, Margaret married Patrick in 1966. In 1974 they moved from Queens to Denville and raised their five children. In 1991 she entered the LPN program at Morris County Vo-Tech and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1992. She began her career at Pediatrics of Morris immediately and continued to work there through all the changes and growth of the practice up until the day she entered the hospital this September.
Those who knew Margaret will remember her for her infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, her obvious pride and joy that she took in her grandchildren, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus, her pride of her Irish heritage, her love of travel and her unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Denville, New Jersey, with Father Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Denville Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Norman Dean Funeral Home, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, New Jersey.
Although Margaret's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. As you continue to worship Jesus up there, dear Maggie, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
