Obituary of Eileen Margaret Foerster

Please share a memory of Eileen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen M. Foerster, a devoted mother and woman of extraordinary grace, who departed this life on October 5, 2025, at the age of 88.

Eileen was born in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Brooklyn College. She later moved to Denville, New Jersey, where she raised her family and built lifelong friendships.

Before dedicating herself fully to her children, Eileen worked as a teacher, a role that reflected her intelligence, patience, and natural gift for nurturing others. Later, as a stay-at-home mother, she poured that same devotion into her family, guiding them with love, wisdom, and the kind of care that leaves an everlasting mark. She was also an active den mother for both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, further extending her nurturing spirit to the community.

Known for her warmth, quiet strength, and timeless elegance, Eileen touched the lives of those around her by making them feel genuinely seen and valued. Her sparkling sense of humor and unforgettable laugh brought light to every room.

Later in life, Eileen was blessed to find her soulmate, Joe Kloss, with whom she shared years of joy, companionship, and cherished memories. Together they traveled, laughed, and found happiness in each other’s presence.

Above all, Eileen adored being a grandmother. She poured her heart into her grandchildren, offering them the same unwavering love, wisdom, and joy she gave her own children. Whether reading stories, sharing quiet conversations, or simply being present, she built lasting bonds that will forever be treasured. Her grandchildren knew her not just as Grandma, but as a source of unconditional love, gentle humor, and steady support.

She was also a gracious hostess, welcoming friends and family with open arms, warm meals, and a home filled with kindness. To her children, she was a safe place; to her friends, a confidante; to all who knew her, unforgettable.

Eileen is survived by her beloved children, Dale (Jim) Rutkowski and Scott (Ruth) Foerster, and her cherished grandchildren, Victoria Anger, Eileen, Mark, and Kevin Foerster, who were the light of her life. Her memory will live on in their hearts and in the countless lives she touched with her elegance, humor, and warmth.

A private service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you donate to Tabby’s Place in Ringoes, NJ.
