Obituary of Richard M. Ferfecki

Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Richard M. Ferfecki, a devoted husband, hardworking craftsman, and long-time resident of Rockaway, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 15, 2025, at 10:32 p.m. He was 80 years old.

Born in Irvington, NJ, on August 31, 1945, Richard was the beloved son of Michael and Ethel Ferfecki. He grew up in Nutley, where he graduated from Nutley High School before continuing his education at a trade school, specializing in tool and die making—a skill that would shape the foundation of his career.

Richard began his professional journey at Reagan Precision, an equipment manufacturing company in North Arlington working there more than 15 years. He then advanced his career to work for OHaus Scale Corporation where he proudly served for over 24 years. His dedication, precision, and work ethic were hallmarks of his time there. Richard was also a successful entrepreneur creating the business called Adam & Eve Landscaping serving the Morris County community for more than 25 years. In the twilight of his working career, he pursued his love for the land, working more than a decade at Foster Farms in Morristown, a role that reflected his deep connection to nature and animals. It was during his time at Reagan Precision that Richard met the love of his life, Carole. Their paths crossed in a moment that would blossom into a lifelong partnership. The two were married on June 15, 1971, and built a life rooted in love, respect, and shared passions.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Richard had a deep and abiding love for farm animals—especially ducks, chickens, and doves. His gentle nature and care for animals became a cherished part of family life. He found great joy and peace in gardening and farming, pursuits that brought him closer to the rhythms of nature and offered solace throughout his life.

Richard will be remembered not only for his skilled hands and quiet strength, but for his enduring kindness, his loyalty to family, and the simple joys he embraced every day. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and a life lived with purpose. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Richard is now reunited with his son who passed before him, Denis Ferfecki. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Carole Ferfecki, his son, Craig Ferfecki (Regina), his daughter in law, Laura Ferfecki, his grandchildren, Christopher Andrew Ferfecki, Makayla Iannino (Vincent), Michael Ferfecki (Lauren), Erik Ferfecki, Emma Ferfecki, and his great grandson, Cooper Ward.
