Obituary of Robert B. Warren
Robert Bruce “Bob” Warren passed away suddenly in the comfort of his home in Boonton Township on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. He had shared nearly 76 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, priceless wisdom, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Born in Morristown to the late Ramona (Myers) and Gilbert Warren, Bob was one of two children to bless their household. He was raised alongside his sister in Montville Township and graduated from Boonton High School in 1968. In 1970, Bob was drafted to defend our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1972 with a National Defense Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with a "60" device, and A Vietnam Service Medal with two stars. The same year, Bob met the love of his life, best friend, and future wife, Colleen Stinson Casey. The happy couple was wed on October 20, 1973 and settled into Montville to begin a family of their own. Shortly after their adorable son was born, they found their forever home in Boonton Township and grew their family with a precious daughter. Bob had a successful career with the Morris County Park Police. After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired as Lieutenant in 2000. He always worked hard to support his household and we will be forever grateful for that.
Bob was a Major League Baseball enthusiast; he loved the game. It started when he was a kid, watching with his grandfather. The Warren’s were a Brooklyn Dodgers family and that loyalty continued even when they became the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1958. Bob carried on the tradition and passed his love of the game to his children and grandchildren—sharing his knowledge, taking them to baseball games, spring training events, and Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, cheering at every little league game, or simply always being ready for a game of catch. These moments created lasting memories that his family will always treasure. Above anything else, his family was his pride and joy. He was a doting husband, attentive father, and devoted grandpa. From class trips and sporting events to family dinners and one-on-one quality time – Bob was there. He and Colleen bought a house in Worcester, NY. They spent every weekend fixing it up to make it the perfect vacation home for family and friends to gather. We will never forget his brilliant smile and the amazing storytelling ability he had. Even if you had heard it before, Bob had a way of engulfing you in. He cherished every moment spent with friends and family, always remembering the details—the year, the people, even the meals shared.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife of nearly 52 years, Colleen; his treasured children, Tim (Bethany) Warren and Erin (Kurt) Havens; his cherished grandchildren, Lucas, Cameron, Reagan, and Bralynn Warren and Olivia and Ezra Havens; his caring sister, Patti Warren; his loving siblings-in-law, Thomas (Kathleen) Casey and Lauren VanNess; and his dear nephews, John, Brendan, and Michael Casey and William, Jr., Keith, and Daniel VanNess. Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his parents, Ramona and Gilbert Warren and his parents-in-law, Alice and Thomas J. Casey.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 12 noon, Montville Reformed Church Cemetery, 9 Church Lane, Montville, NJ 07045. Memorial Donations are being accepted in his memory to Tunnels to Towers by way of www.inmemof.org. Please share a condolence, leave a gesture, or recount a favorite memory of Bob to honor his remarkable life and keep his light shining brightly.
