January 6, 2026. I’ve been trying to call Victor‘s florist to order an arrangement for my brother‘s passing. I called at least six times and got the recording that the phone was disconnected, so I googled what happened to Victor’s florist. I am so sad to read Lenny‘s obituary. I’ve known him since the early 70s when I was a hairdresser in town.. i’ve enjoyed his company immensely, stopping by his store and chitchatting. I ran into him often at Trader Joe’s, where I presently work. It seems like it was just yesterday he was in the store we hugged and we’re so happy to see each other, it’s sad to think that was the last time we would see each other. My heart is shattered rest in peace, you sweet soul. Rita

I just found out today oct 15 of Lenny’s passing.I am truly sad.I’ve know Lenny for over 50 years.Lenny convinced my wife that Bill should be driving a 911 and she coerced me to get a 911 black convertible similar to the one that Lenny drove. Every Thursday, I would call Lenny on the phone and remind him that it was bowling night and how much we needed him on the team he actually helped us win the championship..I knew Lenny was very sick but I thought he would win out like when he beat me in Les’s basement playing table tennis. I loved him like a brother and the world will miss this kind and gentle man.

Lenny and I knew each other for many years! I helped him almost every holiday at the flower shop. He was always good to me and treated me with decency and respect even when others did not. I loved Lenny and I miss him terribly.

We knew Lenny for many years, as a long time member of NJOS (Kim) and while residents of Maplewood (both), we used Lenny's services as a florist for our family's needs. Lenny was always in good spirits, and very helpful in our times of need. He will be sorely missed.
When I belatedly learned of his passing, I took this opportunity to honor his memory by registering a 4th orchid to carry his name (Paphiopedilum Memoria Len Zieff). The RHS accepted this name on September 15th.
