My Aunt Mary Ann was the life of the party. Her stories brought laughter to every family event. She never missed a birthday or holiday, and her cards would arrive early with her signature stickers, a reminder of her love of teaching. She valued family and faith above everything. I am going to miss her gregarious laugh and hilarious stories. I have been so blessed to have her as my aunt. I am going to miss her terribly. You made this world a better place Aunt Mary Ann! With love, Your niece Linda

I may not have many photos with Mrs. lutz in them, but memories I have a ton. Me and Ann Marie used to say that we were switched at birth and I was her real daughter since we were both loud, highly opinionated, super quirky, and shared very similar senses of humor. I used to call Mrs. Lutz my second mom. I still do. She blessed me with the sister I never had when I met Ann Marie. She blessed me by providing me with a prom date and award winning forensics partner when I met Dan. She blessed my life in so many ways by always making me a part of her family, by making me laugh, by giving me someone to talk to, by sharing our love of chatchkes, by sharing with me all of the Christmas decoration displays in her home I never had in my own house (we had a menorah). I used to love it when she walked me through each room and showed me everything she had made Mr. Lutz set up including the moving ice skating rink downstairs in the basement. Mrs Lutz was the matriarch of one of the best families I have ever known. She raised 3 beautiful children who grew up to be some of the smartest, kindest, most genuine people in the world. These qualities have trickled into the very being of her grandchildren. Alex and Harry should always know how much their grandma loves them and how proud of them she always was. Whenever I would call and say "Hi Mr and Mrs Lutz" she would go right into a speech as to everything her grandkids were doing. Then she would talk about her kids ;) but she always had pride pouring through every word when she talked about her family. I love you Mrs Lutz. I love everything about you and everything you gave me. Every joyous memory. I thank God that I could hear your laugh in person again this week and experience your hugs one last time. Keep watch over Mr Lutz, your children, and their children. You never took your eyes or heart off of them when you were physically here in your presence. I know you will continue to keep them safe and never without your love as you are with them from heaven. Love your other daughter, Rena

Rena - I have no words to say how perfect and beautiful that was. Thank you for sharing and highlighting your memories of the woman she was. I know she loved you like a daughter too. And she still reminded Dan of your gorgeous sparkly prom dress, which she loved! Love you lots!

Mrs. Lutz was one of the first people to teach me how to be a teacher. Mrs. Lutz was a first grade teacher to many at Saint Marys in Denville but to me she taught me many valuable lesson’s l still use to this day. After graduating from Saint Marys in 1999, when l had a day off from highschool I would ride my bike to church in the morning and then volunteer in her classroom the entire day. I guess you could say l was a volunteer student teacher when l was there. She would always tell me that you could predict the weather by the behavior of the children. She also told me how you can learn a lot from children. She let me do the best thing ever which was having hands-on experience with the children in her classroom. Nobody can teach you to be a teacher. Learning by doing is the best experience one can receive . Mrs Lutz went to Trenton State when it was known as a school for prospective teachers. Mrs. Lutz always let me read to the children and one day l brought a book in that l had written my name in as a child. She showed the whole class. The kids got a kick out of this and l think she did too. One of my favorite memories of Mrs.Lutz was all of the bags she always had. I used to run up to her when she arrived and took her bags to her classroom for her. This was one of the best things I got to do when I was in school at St. Mary’s. I absolutely loved being allowed to help Mrs.Lutz out. Mrs Lutz is one in a million and will be deeply missed by all who crossed her path!!!

Noreen - thank you for this beautiful memory of our mom. It warms my heart that she had such an impact on you. It made me cry but then smile/laugh that you mentioned the bags!!! We were talking about that yesterday and laughing about how many bags she carried every day :) Your contribution iof this memory is deeply appreciated.
