Robert James Bayer II, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at Care One in Morristown, New Jersey. Born in the Bronx, NY, Robert was the beloved son of the late Robert James Bayer and Mildren (Bartro) Bayer.

Robert spent most of his life in Lincoln Park, NJ, before residing in Hopatcong for a few years and ultimately settling in Rockaway, NJ, where he lived for the past eight years. He worked for many years as a dedicated optician at Costco Optical in Wharton, NJ, and retired in 2020.

Known for his keen interest in current events, Robert was an avid sports fan who especially loved watching football and baseball. A proud supporter of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees, he rarely missed a game. He also was an avid reader and had a strong love for music.  Robert shared a close bond with his cherished Yorkshire Terrier, Culprit, who remained by his side through his later years.

Robert is survived by his loving children: Grissele Manish, Toby Encarnacion, Jillian Caruso, Robert James Bayer III, and Anthony Petretti. He is also survived by his devoted sisters: Mary Bayer- Marion, Ann Bayer, Barbara Sweetman, and Betsy Dykstra, as well as his loyal companion, Culprit.
