Obituary of Salvatore Anthony Lombardo
It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Salvatore Anthony Lombardo, who peacefully left us on June 22, 2025, at the age of 58. Salvatore was a man who touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. His love, warmth, and generosity knew no bounds, and his absence will leave an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him.
Salvatore spent many years as a dedicated employee at Marshalls and Ronetco Supermarkets, where he formed bonds with his coworkers that went beyond mere friendship his colleagues were his extended family. Salvatore's infectious smile, his laughter, and his genuine kindness made him a cherished presence wherever he went. He had a gift for making everyone feel valued, for turning even the simplest moments into cherished memories.
At the core of Salvatore’s life was his family his greatest source of joy, pride, and love. His children, Matthew and Sarah Lombardo, were the light of his life. As a father, he was a constant source of support, guidance, and unconditional love.
Salvatore’s love for his family extended far beyond his children. He was a proud and protective brother to Joanne (Donald) Riegler and Pietrina (John) Riccio, always there with a listening ear or a helping hand whenever needed. His nieces and nephews Donald and Francesca Riegler, and Julia Rose Riccio were incredibly special to him, and he took great joy in watching them grow, always offering a word of encouragement or a shared moment of laughter.
Salvatore’s heart also belonged to his extended family. His cousins, his uncles, Frank Lombardo and Frank (Josephine) Bommaritto, and his aunts, Virginia DiPiazza and Francesca Lombardo, were an important part of his life, and he shared a unique bond with each of them, rooted in love and respect.
Salvatore’s love for life was evident in everything he did. He had a true passion for food, and meals shared with his family were always moments of joy and connection. Whether enjoying a quiet dinner at home or venturing to Atlantic City for a little fun at the Tropicana, Salvatore lived each day with an open heart, a generous spirit, and a love for the people around him. His dream of cruising to see the palm trees was as much about the adventure as it was about the food, and his family often joked that he was truly in it for the endless meals.
In his quiet way, Salvatore made everyone feel special. He listened with care, loved with all his heart, and created a lasting impact on everyone he met. His legacy will live on through the memories of his laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering devotion to his family.
Salvatore is survived by his two beloved children, Matthew and Sarah Lombardo; his loving sisters, Joanne (Donald) Riegler and Pietrina (John) Riccio; his cherished nieces and nephews, Donald and Francesca Riegler, and Julia Rose Riccio; his uncles, Frank Lombardo and Frank (Josephine) Bommaritto; and his aunts, Virginia DiPiazza and Francesca Lombardo.
