Obituary of Jason Allen Ragel

Please share a memory of Jason to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Jason Allen Ragel on June 8, 2025. Though his time with us was far too short, Jason leaves behind a powerful legacy defined by kindness, courage, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Born in Denville, New Jersey, on August 19, 1976, to Edgar and Enid, Jason grew up with a strong sense of family and service. Alongside his brothers, Dylan and Thomas, Jason developed a deep commitment to doing what was right which would be a quality that shaped his life’s journey. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Army, answering a greater calling to serve his country. After his military service, he completed his Bachelor's Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Sergeant First Class Ragel proudly served in the Army with honor and valor for over 20 years. He deployed multiple times in support of Operations Southern Watch, Desert Fox, Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, and Enduring Freedom. His bravery and commitment earned him numerous commendations, including the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. Jason served his country with courage, discipline, and humility, and he carried these qualities into every facet of his life.

After returning home from combat, Jason was honorably discharged and continued serving his country as a Product Support Manager at Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton, NJ. His leadership and experience were vital to his work, where he ensured mission-critical support to ongoing military operations and initiatives.

Jason embraced his most cherished role: that of a father. He was blessed with two sons, Bryce Allen and Lincoln Davis, who were the center of his world. Whether coaching their sports teams, fishing at the lake, or simply sharing quiet moments together, Jason poured his heart into fatherhood. His love and guidance created a bond with his sons that will endure forever.

Jason had a unique ability to connect with people. His humor was infectious, and his presence instantly lifted the room. He had the largest heart and would help anyone with anything, expecting nothing in return. His warmth, generosity, and ability to make others laugh left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Jason also found deep connections in his extended family and community. He is survived by his beloved sons, Bryce and Lincoln; his fiancé, Stacey Myers; his father, Thomas Stokes; and his siblings Tom Stokes (Shellie), Dylan Stokes, Amber Ulmer, and Jordan Ragel. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will continue to carry his memory with them.

Jason’s life was marked by service, love, and integrity. He showed us the meaning of sacrifice and the beauty of a heart that never stopped giving. Though we grieve his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the lives he touched

.

In Jason’s memory, a trust will be established to support the future of his sons, Bryce and Lincoln. Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
