Obituary of Carmen Manganello
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmen Manganello, who passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, on June 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Carmen was born to Angelo and Grace Manganello on August 7, 1944. He was raised in Orange, New Jersey, and graduated from Orange High School, now known as Seton Hall Prep. A hard-working and devoted man, Carmen went on to build a career as a warehouseman, working for Nabisco for 32 years. He was known for his dedication and work ethic, always willing to go the extra mile to support his family—because for Carmen, family was everything.
He was blessed with a daughter, Janice, and when he married his beloved wife, Elaine, he gained two stepchildren, Richard and Tammy, whom he embraced as his own. Carmen and Elaine shared a deep and lasting bond—one rooted in mutual respect, loyalty, and unwavering love. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, support, and enduring memories.
Carmen was a proud and loving father, and his joy only grew when he became a grandfather. Whether it was picking the kids up from school or making a donut stop on the way home, Carmen relished every moment spent with his grandchildren. He filled the role of grandfather with heart and humor—always present, always dependable.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Carmen had a deep passion for baseball (the New York Yankees) and football (the New York Giants). Sports brought him joy, comfort, and connection, especially in his later years. Even in his final days, the crack of a bat or the swing of a golf club could still bring a smile to his face.
Carmen leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and kindness. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was everyone’s favorite.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Manganello; his daughter, Janice Manganello (Jessica); his step-son, Richard Barth (Joanne); his step-daughter, Tammy Coron (Bill); and his cherished grandchildren: Travis and Jake Coron, Drew and Haley Barth. He is also remembered fondly by many friends and neighbors who were lucky to share in his life.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Carmen on Thursday, June 12, at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Ave, Denville. All are welcome to come and celebrate his life, and please use this page to send a condolence, share a memory, or light a candle to allow Carmen’s light to keep shining!
