Elizabeth (Gomez) Fleig
1963 – 2025

 

Elizabeth (Gomez) Fleig, 61, passed away peacefully at her home in Denville, NJ, surrounded by her loving family on May 29, 2025.

 

Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Elizabeth was one of eleven children of the late Joseph and Geraldine Gomez. She later settled in Parsippany, NJ, where she raised her family and lived for many years before moving to Denville three years ago.

 

Elizabeth was a creative and artistic soul who found great joy in painting and drawing. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her friends. However, nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life

 

She is survived by her devoted children, Michael Fleig and his partner Christina Gonzalez of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, and Jennifer Hallik and her partner Justin O’Donnell of Denville, NJ, and She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Brody, Brayden, Michael, Cash, Colten, Kinsley, and Scarlett. Elizabeth also leaves behind her dear siblings: Joan and her husband Gino Donofrio, Joseph and his wife Geanie Gomes, Marie and her husband Eric Nelson, and Rose and her husband Walt Curtis. She will also be deeply missed by her longtime friend, Donnie Forster.

 

A memorial Mass celebrating Elizabeth’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834 on Saturday June 7, 2025, at 10:00AM under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com.
