Obituary of Christine Anne Inderwies

Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Christine Anne Inderwies, 77, of Denville, New Jersey, who peacefully left us on May 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, Christine's life was defined by her unwavering love for those she held dear. She was the heart and soul of her family, and her love for them will continue to echo through their lives for generations to come.

Born on December 5, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey, Christine was raised with a deep sense of community and faith, values she carried with her throughout her life. In 1969, she married Frank, the love of her life, and together they embarked on a journey that would see them build a beautiful life in Denville, where they raised a family filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Christine always said that her greatest accomplishment was being a mother—nothing mattered more to her than the joy of raising her children and nurturing their growth.

Christine’s love for her family knew no bounds. Every decision she made was motivated by her desire to see her children happy, healthy, and surrounded by love. She poured herself into their lives, creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and unconditional support. Whether it was cheering from the sidelines at sports games and band competitions, nurturing creativity with arts and crafts, baking cookies in the kitchen, or simply being there to listen, Christine was always present, always there.

Her commitment to her family extended far beyond her own children. Christine often opened her heart and her home to others, hosting friends, neighbors, and extended family with the same love and care she showed her own. The memories she created with everyone she welcomed into her home will remain treasured by all who knew her.

In addition to her role as a mother, Christine found great fulfillment in her career. While her children were young, she would focus on homemaking and work part-time at Macy’s in the evenings, but it was in her later role at Dover Dodge that she became known as "the work mom" to her colleagues. They adored her, not just for her professionalism but for the warmth, wisdom, and nurturing spirit she shared with everyone. Her coworkers became her second family, and Christine cherished the bonds she built there.

Christine’s faith was another cornerstone of her life. She raised her children with a strong sense of religion, guiding them with love and compassion and teaching them the values of kindness, humility, and service to others. Her own faith sustained her through life’s challenges, and it was a source of strength and peace for her throughout her journey.

Christine’s passions outside of her family were many, but perhaps her greatest joy was in creating. Whether she was cooking a special meal for a holiday gathering, tending to her beloved garden, crocheting beautiful creations, or immersing herself in her love of music, Christine's creativity reflected her warm heart. She loved to share her talents with those around her, and she was known for hosting festive and memorable holiday celebrations, especially Christmas, which she always made an extra special occasion. Her home was a place of joy, laughter, and love, where everyone felt welcomed and cared for.

Christine’s love for the arts was another important part of who she was. She ensured that her children were immersed in music, theater, and culture from an early age, encouraging them to explore their creativity and appreciate the beauty in the world around them. Christine herself was a talented pianist, and music always played a special role in her life. Her passion for the arts was something she carried with her and shared with those closest to her.

One of the highlights of Christine's life was a cherished trip to Ireland with Frank, a journey that she spoke of with great fondness. It was a trip that brought them even closer together, and it captured Christine’s love for adventure and the simple joy of experiencing life’s moments with the person she loved most.

Christine’s circle of friends reflected the love she gave so freely. Through her children’s activities, particularly the Morris Knolls Marching Band booster association, she formed lifelong friendships that she cherished deeply. These friends became a second family to Christine, and she held each of them close in her heart.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will continue to inspire and uplift those who carry her memory. Christine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Inderwies. She is survived by her children Brian (Jasmine) Inderwies, Laurie (William) Justus, and Lisa (John) Evers. Her adored grandchildren Madeline, Anna Rose, Alexander, Kerri, and Julian – as well as many friends and extended family – will miss her deeply.
