Please share a memory of Marilyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marilyn Vicenzino, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a rich legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to family.

Born in Brooklyn on August 31, 1943, to Saul and Mattie Gold, Marilyn was raised in Far Rockaway, Queens, where she grew up with a strong sense of community and an even stronger sense of self. Her life changed forever when she met the love of her life, Sebastian (better known as Sal), at a dude ranch in Upstate New York. Their connection was instant, and from that moment forward, their lives were beautifully intertwined.

Together, Marilyn and Sal raised two wonderful sons, building a home filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring love. After moving to New Jersey, Marilyn pursued her passion for helping others and earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. She went on to build a meaningful career across various industries, serving others with compassion, determination, and a deep understanding of human resilience.

While Marilyn’s professional accomplishments were many, her greatest joy and driving force was always her family. She worked tirelessly to provide for them and poured her heart into every role she played—especially as a mother and grandmother. Her love for her sons knew no bounds, and her joy only grew when she was blessed with grandchildren. For Marilyn, time spent with family was never time wasted; it was everything.

Marilyn also knew how to live life to the fullest. She had a deep love for music and could often be found dancing, her spirit as vibrant as ever. She was a phenomenal cook, known for bringing people together through food and laughter. A lover of the arts, she frequently took friends and family into the city to see Broadway shows—moments that became treasured memories. She and Sal also delighted in trips to Aruba, often joined by dear friends, enjoying sun, laughter, and each other’s company.

Above all, Marilyn was fiercely loving and protective—a true force of nature with a heart full of empathy, loyalty, and fire. She stood strong for those she loved and never backed down from what she believed in. Her feisty spirit and compassionate soul made her unforgettable to all who knew her.

Marilyn leaves behind a glowing legacy of love, care, and strength that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Marilyn is now reunited with her husband, Sal, and her parents, Saul and Mattie. She is survived by her sons, Mark Vicenzino (Jennifer), Michael Vicenzino (Carolyn), her grandchildren, Sophia, Ava, Sebastian, as well as a wealth of extended family, friends, and neighbors.

A private service will be held to celebrate Marilyn’s life, but please use this page to communicate with the family by sharing a memory, leaving a condolence, or lighting a candle to continue to let Marilyn’s light shine!
