Obituary of Erik Stinson
Erik A. Stinson, 58, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away with his son and daughter by his side, on May 9, 2025. He was the beloved husband of 28 years to the late Katherine Stinson and a devoted son to Edward and Carole Stinson. Known for his unwavering dedication and warm spirit, Erik will be remembered as a hardworking man and an exceptional father.
Erik’s love for life was evident in his many passions. He cherished visiting distilleries, cheering for his favorite NASCAR drivers, and had a fondness for penguins. Erik found joy in playing fetch with his grand-dogs and embarking on Sunday car rides with his loyal companion, Buddy. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Before making South Carolina his home, Erik served his community as a volunteer firefighter and deputy chief in Denville, NJ. His commitment to protecting and serving others was a testament to his selfless nature.
In addition to his parents, Edward and Carole Stinson, Erik is survived by his loving children, Matthew Stinson and Amanda Stinson. He also leaves behind his siblings, Kirk Stinson, Christopher Stinson, and Heather Gregoire, along with his sister-in-law, Cynthia Nelson.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 1 PM at Main Street Firehouse, located at 2 Indian Rd, Denville, NJ 07834. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of this incredible man.
