Obituary of Lorraine Ann Brodziak

Please share a memory of Lorraine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lorraine Ann Brodziak, 97, of Jefferson Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025.

Born in Morristown and raised in Dover, Lorraine spent most of her life in Jefferson Township, where she lovingly raised her family. A graduate of Dover High School, she went on to work as a seamstress at the Swiss Knitting Mill in Dover.

Lorraine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found great joy in cooking and baking for her family and shared a special love for animals—especially her many cats throughout the years—and for the birds she delighted in feeding and watching.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Francis J. Brodziak, in 2004, and her dear son Michael Brodziak in 1991, as well as her mother Ruth McDonald in 2009.

Lorraine is survived by her devoted daughter, Kathleen M. Vaughn of Oak Ridge, NJ; her cherished granddaughters, Sandra Shaljian and her husband Seth of Budd Lake, NJ, and Colleen Higby and her husband Arthur of Highland, NY; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Annabelle Shaljian and Brooks Higby.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834 (www.normandean.com). A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday May 16 at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church 15 Myers Avenue Denville, NJ 07834, followed by a procession to Locust Hill Cemetery, 169 North Sussex Street, Dover, NJ 07801, for interment.

Lorraine will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the deep love she had for her family.
